Foreign vehicles in eastern Afghanistan were struck by suicide car bombers on Friday, killing three Afghans and injuring others. Along with this, a roadside explosion killed a dozen of people on their way to a wedding, according to authorities.

The Taliban claimed accountability for the attacks on the foreign convoys in Kabul and Jalalabad, close to the Pakistan border. Although the details to the wedding party attack in Ghanzi province, south of Kabul, were not made clear immediately.

Afghanistan's war against the Taliban rebels is heating up after the international troops put a stop to their fight last year. Due to this, civilian casualties continue on piling up. The Taliban are increasing their attacks on the Afghan government personnel and institutions, as well as those who are assisting the government.

The first bombing of the day was near Jalalabad, hitting a vehicle of foreign troops who are part of a residual training mission for Afghan forces, according to Reuters.

Chief of police for Nangarhar province Fazel Ahmad Sherzad said that the suicide bomber hit just outside the Jalalabad airport just when the foreign troops were passing. Jalalabad is the capital of Nangarhar-which, apparently, where a series of insurgent attacks took place last year.

The spokesman for the force said that the international troops in the convoy suffered from minor injuries.

Later that day, another suicide bomber drove in Kabul into a vehicle used by foreigners in the city's east. There were at least three Afghans who were reported injured within the vicinity of the blast.

The attack on Friday was the second assault against the US forces in Jalalabad this week, Washington Post reported. An Afghan dressed in military uniform opened fire on a group of American soldiers protecting a US Embassy diplomatic mission on Wednesday. The suspected insider attack killed one American soldier while injuring several others.

The US troops then killed the attacker in return fire. During the shooting, one Afghan soldier and two others were also wounded. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the assault, but it was suspicions are pointing to the Taliban or a group related with the insurgency.
