The 5.1 Lollipop update was available only to Nexus 5 users when Google unveiled it in March. However, the update will soon be readily available to Nexus 4, 7, and 9 device users next. The update will give better performance to users when it comes to bug fixes that were previously found on the earlier version of the Android Lollipop, according to Android Jelly Bean.

The said update has the build LMY471 which is said to be different from the ones received by Nexus 5 users in March. Compared to the earlier build, the recent update will have SIM card advancements to the device.

According to Google, besides the Nexus 5, the Nexus 6, 7 2012 Wi-Fi, 7 2013, and Nexus 10 will also get the latest Android Lollipop. It was not stated clear if the release will be of an Android Lollipop 5.1 or a 5.1.1. The latter version however has a bug fix for the memory leak issue.

Other added improvements for the update includes battery life enhancement for devices running on the latest OS; high definition voice calls; and security and new locking system advancements that will protect the device from being used when stolen or lost. The device is said to stop working even when "factory reset" was done. One the original user's login and Google password will make it functional, VC Post reported.
