After the appearance of the giant monster "Godzilla" last year in theaters, fans are curious on the status of its plotted sequel.

Taylor-Johnson also said that "Godzilla"'s filmmaker, Gareth Edwards, is currently filming "Star Wars: Rogue One." "Rogue One" is an upcoming stand-alone "Star Wars" film. It is not part of the "Star Wars" sequel trilogy while it is part of the "Star Wars" universe. The film is to premiere on Dec. 16, 2016 so "Godzilla" has to wait for a while.

For now, fans will see "Godzilla" stars Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen as mutants possessing extraordinary abilities in Joss Whedon's "Avengers: Age of Ultron," which is set to hit theaters on May 1.

Meanwhile, several classic monsters are said to be featured in the sequel - King Ghidora, Mothra, and Rodan. The film will also showcase "Monster Island," the place where the monsters thrive.

A new Godzilla comic with the title "Godzilla in Hell" is under development, as per Geekwire. The colossal monster enters the gates of hell as it attests itself as the "King of the Monsters" both above and below.

The comics are set to have five issues with will be crafted by a rotating creative team. James Stokoe, creator of "Godzilla: The Half Century War" is in charge with the first issue. For Stokoe, drawing Godzilla is his comfort "food" and it makes him excited to work with IDW again. The artist also acknowledged being part of the amazing creators for the giant monster.

The comics are to be released in July this year while "Godzilla 2" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on June 8, 2018.
