Republican New Jersey Governor Chris Christie released a statement recently and he noted that he is still relevant to the Presidential 2016 elections although former secretary of state Hillary Clinton officially announced her interest for the position.

In an interview with NBC on Wednesday, Christie shared to the host of "Today Show," Matt Lauer, Clinton still has to earn her way to the elections. Christie was also asked about his thoughts on his moment for the 2016 elections already passed and he replied saying that he still does not know that and that no one is still certain about it.

Christie shared that Clinton has to perform in order to earn the nomination as nobody is handed the silver platter easily. The governor added that although people are saying that the unsuccessful 2008 campaign of Clinton does not affect her candidacy now, it should not be a certain conclusion.

Christie pointed out in the interview that Clinton has overwhelming support and is a favorite but it was also the situation when she ran for the same post but she came in second as United States President Barack Obama won the elections back then. He referred to Clinton as a "foregone conclusion" and a lot of candidates also went through the same phase in the American politics.

The interview is set to air on Thursday and his statements are seen as his way to reignite the issue about him running for president although he still has not formally announced it.

Also, Christie talked at an event in New Hampshire and the governor talked about Iran's nuclear project posing a threat to the U.S., CNN reported. He also shared in his meeting that he is focused on governing New Jersey and he has been studying for the past months on how to deal with the issues that the administration is facing now.
