The son of a Canadian Diplomat was charged as an adult with murder on Wednesday after a shootout that left his brother dead.

According to Daily Mail, the teenager is only 15 years old and was part of a shootout with possible drug dealers and it lead to the death of his older brother named Jean, who was 17 years old.

The Canadian Diplomat was identified as Roxanne Dube and her 15-year-old son was identified as Marc Wabafiyebazu. A grand jury from Miami, Florida handling the case already indicted the teen and as he waits for his trial, he will be transferred to a jail. The teenager was originally held under a juvenile detention center.

According to the publication, Curt Obront, Wabafiyebazu's attorney, said in a statement that they will be entering a non-guilty plea to the charges pressed against his client.

Police officials said in a statement to the publication that Wabafiyebazu and his brother drove the car of their mother, which has a diplomatic license plate, to a house located in Miami. The brothers allegedly planned to go inside the house and steal marijuana from drug dealers but they were caught thus the shootout.

Miami police shared that the brothers initially set up a deal with the drug dealers that two pounds of marijuana will be sold to them for $4,800 but police believed that the two planned to rob the drug dealers beforehand. A police official testified that Wabafiyebazu admitted to him that they planned to rob the drug dealers and they also did multiple robberies in Canada.

Aside from Wabafiyebazu's brother being killed in the encounter, one of the alleged drug dealers also died. Two more from the suspected dealers were wounded and they were also charged with murder.

The mother of Wabafiyebazu is a veteran Canadian diplomat and was recently transferred in Miami as a general consul. Her sons joined her just this February, as per report of Miami Herald
