Although the game is available in the Windows platform, only Windows 8 and higher operating system supports it. For its smartphone brand, the game will be available for Windows phone that runs on the Windows 8 platform or higher.

"Halo: Spartan Strike" uses a twin-stick gameplay mechanics and features a top-down point-of-view for the player. Players has to go through 30 missions in order to finish the game. Just like other "Halo" titles, the game has a variety of weapon for the player to choose from.

Some of the weapons confirmed to be in the game are the Suppressor, Incineration Cannon, Binary Rifle and Scatter Shot. Abilities like the Bubble Shield, Teleport, Shock Chain, Proximity Mine and Airstrike were also added.

The game is the direct predecessor of the 2013 video game set in the same "Halo" universe, "Halo: Spartan Assault." Microsoft originally intended the game to be released in December 2014 but the company focused mainly to the development of "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" which caused the eventual delay of the release.

Microsoft said that the game will put players in the role of a Spartan supersoldier guiding its troops against enemies that plot to take over the Earth, according to Xbox Wire.

The game costs $5.99 on all platform. A bundled package, called "Halo: Spartan Bundle," will be released for $9.99 and includes both the "Spartan Assault" and "Spartan Strike" game, according to BidnessETC.
