Interested buyers of the Korean-based tech firm's new smartphone will not be waiting any longer as the LG G4 release date has been unveiled.

LG already sent invitations to the press for an announcement event on April 28, but there is a large possibility that the LG G4 release will initially be for South Korea only.

The original press release from LG said that pre-orders for the LG G4 will start on May 31 and that the units will be shipped within three weeks. The units will be sold through three unnamed mobile communication giants, according to Inquisitr.

Some are now speculating that the earliest LG G4 release date for the U.S. will be two months later, but more are expecting the unit to be launched much later in other regions.

The LG G4 is speculated to sport a 5.5-inch qHD Quantum IPS display with an impressive 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution. It will be helmed by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor coupled with 3GBs of RAM.

Adding fuel to the heated anticipation of Android fans, the South Korean tech giant posted a video on YouTube showcasing the new software additions on the LG G4 UX 4.0, according to Android Authority.

One such feature shown in the video is the Quick Shot function that lets the user use the rear volume button to snap a photo, even while the G4 is locked. For the selfie snappers, LG developed the Gesture Interval Shot feature that lets the user use a gesture to start a sequence of four shots.

Another feature is the Ringtone ID which automatically creates custom ringtones for the user's favorite contacts. LG said that those are just some of the features in their new UX 4.0.

More details about the LG G4 will be finally revealed on the press event on April 28.
