The fans of the franchise are reportedly disheartened over the further delay in the release of the much awaited movie. On the contrary, the movie's director Duncan Jones of "Moon" fame sounded hopeful and optimistic about the decision saying that delay is good as the movie will have an opportunity to become a summer blockbuster.

"Got good news & bad news. Uni have decided Warcraft deserves to be a summer flick," tweeted Jons to keep the fans updated. "Yay! Bad news, that means we have to wait till June 2016!"

"Warcraft" took the world by storm back in 2004 by its multi-player role playing online game. The game  opened the door of the high fantasy world featuring humans, elves, dwarves, and orcs who are constantly fighting among themselves for survival, Digital Trends reported.

Not much is revealed yet about the storyline of the movie other than the fact the movie will is set in the time when humans first came in contact with orcs and waged wars against each other, unknowing of the greater demonic threat in the background.

The synopsis of the movie by Breathecast stated that "Vikings" star Travis Fimmel plays the lead character of Sir Sir Anduin Lothar, who will eventually lead the human race against orcs. Other supporting actors are Dominic Cooper in the role of Stormwind leader, Ben Foster as Alliance's guardian Medivh and Ruth Negga as Lady Taria.

The 3-D epic adventure of world engulfed in war to save the human race was first announced in 2006 when the game was at its peak of popularity. It took almost three years for the project to get started and "The Evil Dead" director Sam Raimi was roped in to direct the movie.

Raimi abandoned the movie in 2012 to direct "Oz: The Great and Powerful." Jones, who now has an expertise in being imaginative in low budget movies, took the realms in 2013. The filming and the production of the movie has been completed long back and even promotional poster is out to tease the fans. The cause of further delay is yet not declared.
