The future films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will maintain a light and humorous tone.

Marvel head Kevin Feige said that fans ask him every year, asking if a film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe becomes "dark," as per Screen Rant. Feige said that Marvel films do not have and will not have a "dark turn."

One of the Marvel films that was loved by the fans due to its humorous take is James Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy," which centered on five unknown characters with unique personalities.

It is surprising to see that a talking humanoid tree and a gun-slinging raccoon would earn high appeal from both comic fans and ordinary moviegoers.

Meanwhile, Joss Whedon's "Avengers: Age of Ultron" has received some comments about its irregular shifts in tone and also its humorous depiction of the titular supervillain.

While Whedon's blockbuster became a hit with its $881 million worldwide gross since its release last May 1, many comic book fans were stunned by the light tone of the film and its villain.

Feige noted that the trailers for the "Avengers" sequence were "omnious" in nature, but that is to lay a foundation for a forbidding antagonist. However, that dark tone was not strongly seen in the film.

"Ant-Man" will mark the transition of Marvel Phase Two to Phase Three. Led by the smallest protagonist, the film appears to be an amusing blockbuster, as per Screen Crush.

It will be an achievement if Marvel can keep going with its light tone and humor, since the upcoming Marvel Phase 3 has darker storylines, just like "Captain America: Civil War" and "Thor: Ragnarok."

For the Marvel president, humor is part of the Marvel movies and he does not have any thoughts of turning away from that path.

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" is still showing in theaters. "Ant-Man" is slated to premiere on July 17 while "Captain America: Civil War" hits theaters on May 6, 2016.

"Guardians of the Galaxy 2" is set to arrive in theaters on May 5, 2017 while "Thor: Ragnarok" premieres on Nov. 3, 2017.

"Avengers: Infinity War Part 1" is to hit theaters on May 4, 2018 while "Avengers: Infinity War Part 2" is set to enter the big screen on May 3, 2019.
