Jeremy Lin might have had a forgetful stint with the Los Angeles Lakers last season, but there are still several teams willing to gamble on the Asian-American star this offseason.
The Houston Rockets, the Philadelphia 76ers and the Golden State Warriors have already been mentioned as the leading suitors for Lin. However, International Business Times writer Greg Price thinks there are other teams that might see Lin as an intriguing acquisition.
Price stated the Detroit Pistons, Charlotte Hornets, Denver Nuggets and Brooklyn Nets could all make serious offers for Lin as well should they decide to unload some of their guards.
"Several teams will be in need of point guards this summer, especially those unwilling to pay their own unrestricted free agents. There's the Detroit Pistons who face a difficult situation with Brandon Jennings, the Denver Nuggets who could lose Jameer Nelson as Ty Lawson's backup if he opts-out, the Charlotte Hornets could let Mo Williams walk, and the Brooklyn Nets might watch Deron Williams exercise his opt-out clause."
Lin, who averaged 11.1 points and 4.6 assists per game during the 2014-15 NBA season, has remained a valuable option in the free-agency market largely because of his strong post All-Star break run.
While Lin certainly took a hit for not adapting well to the Lakers' Princeton-based offense, many analysts are confident the former Harvard standout could still thrive in a fast-paced offense that features more pick-and-roll and fastbreak plays.
Fresh from pocketing the most lucrative paycheck of his career at roughly $15M last season, Lin might not get the same amount of salary on his next contract but he stressed that money isn't his priority in the offseason. Instead, he's looking to find a home where he can fit in and become a big contributor, either as a starter or off the bench.
