Australian actor Nathan Jones, who seems fearless and superhuman in the recently released "Mad Max: Fury Road," had a close call with fire on the sets of the movie.

While filming a scene in which Jones as Rictus Erectus, massive son of villainous overlord Immortan Joe, played by Hugh Keays Byrne, is in combat, the fuel line broke out and Jones was caught in flames for a while, .

"I had fuel being sprayed all over me and no one could see what was going on and I eventually got their attention," said the 44-year-old actor and retired professional actor, Entertain This reported. The giant sized actor, who admitedly got perturbed and unnerved at being caught in fire, later brushed away the traumatic experience saying that indeed it was a big rush but he enjoyed being in it.

Jones also disclosed that being a fan of franchise since childhood, it was difficult for him to perceive newbie Tom Hardy as Max since he was admittedly biased on the fact that Mel Gibson was irreplaceable. Later, as the shooting progressed, Jones became all praises for the "Star War: Nemesis" actor and the two reportedly became inseparable throughout the production and promotional stages.

However, Hardy's on-screen vehicle, War Rig, gave a pretty tough time to Jones who smashed his head against the blower of the doomsday vehicle while shooting The wrestler-turned actor was riding on the hood of the vehicle when it jackknifed a bit, jolting him and leaving him with bruises on one side of his face and body.

Meawhile, the movie, premiered at Cannes Film Festival 2015, is gaining rave reviews and has earned 4.5/5 stars from Heavy. George Miller's reboot of the franchise is deemed as high octane two hour chase in the Australian backdrop of the driest desert-barren wasteland of apocalyptic proportions.

The movie has a touch of feminism as well with the five wives and Imperator Furiosa, played by Charlize Theron, fighting against the patriarch-dominated society where women are treated like property. However, the movie is more about equality for all in a society where everything else is lost.
