The report said that Chinese missile frigate Yulin is one of the vessels featured in warships display, and will also join in a multilateral naval exercise hosted by the Western Pacific Naval Symposium and in the joint Sino-Singapore maritime drill.

"China's participation in IMDEX Asia aims to show Chinese Navy's commitment in safeguarding regional and world peace, to strengthen mutual trust and enhance pragmatic cooperation with other navies," Rear Adm. Shen Jinlong, Commander of the Chinese fleet, said.

The maritime show is expected to bring the latest trends, insights and technology to the industry, as more than 180 exhibitors from 28 countries will showcase innovations as well as key trends and developments. An estimated 67 percent of them are returning exhibitors, the report added.

According to AMI International, around $200 billion are expected to be spent on new ships and submarines by countries in the Asia Pacific region by 2031, in relation to economic development and military needs.

A series of strategic and technical conference is also featured in the IMDEX Asia 2015, enabling participants to be informed of the latest developments in the naval and maritime security industry and allowing them to address future issues.

It was the first time that the 15th Asia Pacific Submarine Conference (APSC) was held in conjunction with IMDEX Asia, the report said.

The 10th IMDEX Asia is considered the largest gathering of high-level delegations, made up of military and government officials, as well as leading industry players in the region.
