Millions of car owners have been trying to get their affected Takata airbags replaced after being told by their car dealers that this is possible but with some delays.

Many brands of vehicles were affected by the faulty Takata airbags and have been doing the nationwide recall for about 34 million automobiles that needs replacement from its car maker for free. However, car owners were told that it will take months until their car airbags can be replaced, according to CBS News.

Natalie Kubes, a Honda Civic 2002 Model car owner, is one of the millions of affected drivers who are trying to get their Takata airbags replaced as soon as possible. According to her, she has been trying to make a schedule for her car to be replaced but was told to wait for November since no new schedule will be made until the said month.

Auto Safety officers considered this dilemma as the most complex consumer safety recall in the history of the United States. Officials believed that this may take years to complete.

Japanese airbags supplier Takata agreed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NTSA) call on the 34 million airbags recall all over the US on Tuesday, New York Times reported.

Mark R. Rosekind, NTSA administrator, disclosed that the agency is doing its best to come up with the list of the makes and models of the affected vehicles as fast as they can.
