Calvin Klein model Kendall Jenner of the Kardashian clan recently commented on her father Bruce Jenner's transformation to Caitlyn. The 19-year-old celebrity uploaded to her Instagram account a segment of her father's Vanity Fair shoot two days after teasing a Vogue China update. Despite her social media activities, Kendall says her generation's fixation to social media is "sad."
On the weekend before her Vogue China cover came out, Kendall Jenner teased all about it on Instagram. The photo shows the young model giving fashion photographer Mario Testino a big hug. In the caption, she says "something exciting" is coming out.
Earlier this week, Vogue China hit the newsstands showing Kendall Jenner and China's celebrated singer-songwriter Kris Wu. Soon after, Vanity Fair releases its own cover: Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce. Kendall re-uploaded Vanity Fair's Instagram video to her account, saying, "Now that's a cover."
In the said Instagram video, Bruce Jenner's voice can be heard saying that the Vanity Fair cover will set Caitlyn free. No more secrets, says Kendall's father.
Jenner has over 27 million followers on her Instagram account. She regularly uploads photos, which draw an average of tens of thousands of virtual thumbs-ups and comments. Sometimes, she gets over a million of user's approval. For instance, her post about her dad has so far drawn 965,000 thumbs-ups. In contrast, nearly two million "likers" have approved her stunning Calvin Klein dress at the Cannes amfAR Gala two weeks ago.
Despite being a regular social media user, Kendall recently said there are times when she feels she should just toss her phone away. The teenager said, "I hate it sometimes."
"[Social media is] a big part of our lives and it's kind of sad," Jenner told The Sunday Times, noting, "social media has taken over for our generation."
