Abandoned waterfront structures in New York have become the canvas for a Hawaiian artist whose forte is depicting beautiful women rising from the waves.
The larger than life series of murals depicting stunning women are the work of "surfboard artist" Sean Yoro aka Hula, who was born in Hawaii. These works of art, whose realism stems from an optical illusion effect, are to be found on the concrete walls of rundown seaside buildings in New York City.
It shows the women as if rising from the waves so as to be seen. Hula paddles out to his selected spot on his paddleboard to paint these murals.
"This piece was inspired by the silence beneath the surface of the water, when all you can hear is your heartbeat as everything else fades away," said Yoro about a mural he dubbed "Pu'uwai" (Heart). "It's one of the many places I call home."
This mural shows a woman apparently sleeping as she floats on the water.

Before unveiling his stunning seaside murals on Instagram, Yoro had already made a name for himself with his beautiful portraits of women painted on canvas and on surfboards.
He Instagram posts and a time lapse video of his works have gotten over 20,000 followers.
