LEGO recently made an announcement that it will be releasing an open sandbox game similar to the widely popular "Minecraft." Upon the release of its trailer, the videogame dubbed "LEGO Worlds" immediately gain rave reviews from some critics calling it the "Minecraft" killer.
While taking much of its gameplay mechanics on "Minecraft," gamers and videogame experts alike agree that "LEGO Worlds" is unique in its own.
Among the many similarities "LEGO Worlds" and "Minecraft" share in common is that both games have an open-world gameplay mechanics which gives gamers to openly explore the world they are into. Both games also rely heavily on crafting.
According to PC Advisor, the developers of "LEGO Worlds" decided to add vehicles into the game in order to give gamers an easier way to navigate the vast open-world that they are thrown into. Among the confirmed vehicles that will be included once the game is released are helicopters, horses, dragons and the new digger which allow users to dig a tunnel through a mountain.
Just like "Minecraft," crafting and creation still plays a major role in the game's overall gameplay. The creation possibility in "LEGO Worlds" widely depend on its user's creativity. "LEGO Worlds" also has a terrain-editing tool which allow gamers to create any landscape that they want, a feature that is not available in "Minecraft."
"LEGO Worlds" will be released exclusively on Windows PC. "LEGO Worlds" release date is still unconfirmed with rumors hinting at a late 2015 or early 2016 official release.
The beta version of "LEGO Worlds" is currently available in Steam Early Access for $14.99, according to BGR.
