The "Gilmore Girls" cast reunion took place during the main event of the ATX Television Festival in Austin, Texas on May 6, Saturday. However, Jason Statham's "Spy" co-star Melissa McCarthy did not join the reunion.

While "Gilmore Girls" cast reunion was taking place eight years after the WB series finale, "Spy" was dominating the weekend box office. The 20th Century Fox's new comedy is headed for an estimated $35 million opening weekend at 3,711 locations, TV Grapevine has learned.

Sponsored by Entertainment Weekly, the "Gilmore Girls" cast reunion featured an empty chair on stage at the panel in honor of the late Edward Hermann, who died from brain cancer in December 2014 at the age of 71.

"Gilmore Girls" creator Amy Sherman-Palladino paid tribute to Hermann at the panel, which was attended by Lauren Graham, 48, and Alexis Bledel, 33, Keiko Agena, 41, Scott Patterson, 56, Liza Weil, 38, Danny Strong, 41, Kelly Bishop, 71, Matt Czuchry, 38, Milo Ventimiglia, 37, and Jared Padalecki, 32.

"I'm so grateful I got to hear him say my words," Sherman-Palladino said of Hermann. "He was a drinking, loving, knew everything in the world. He was our Mr. President."

Before Graham and Bledel sat down for a panel discussion, they took a selfie together which the former shared to her Twitter followers.

"I've missed you, @alexisbledel," Graham captioned the photo with her fellow former "Gilmore Girls" leading lady.

After "Gilmore Girls," Graham starred in the TV series "Parenthood" while Bledel appeared in "Mad Men" in 2012 and starred in "Us And Them" from 2013 to 2014.
