Moto X 2015 release may happen sooner than later as US retailer Best Buy offers Moto X 2014 discounts.

Best Buy is now selling the second generation of Moto X under AT&T and Verizon for way cheaper prices. Verizon's 16GB Moto X 2014 is now offered for $49.99 under a two-year contract. This saves consumers $50 from the handset's regular price.

The handset is also available under the Verizon Edge plan for $ 20.83/ month. The inactivated device costs $549.99.

The retailer also offers AT&T Moto X 2014 without a downpayment for $18.24/month in the next 30 months under the AT&T Next program. The inactivated device costs $399.99.

Meanwhile, Venture Capital Post reported that the release of the third generation of Motorola's flagship smartphone may happen between August and October. The Moto X 2014 was launched in September last year. There is a possibility that Motorola wants to release the device earlier to get ahead its rivals Apple and Samsung since the two companies will be releasing their flagship smartphones in September.

According to Android Pit, Moto X 2015 is rumored to pack a 5.2-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 808 processor and 4 GB of RAM, 16 MP back camera and 5 MP selfie shooter, up to 64GB internal storage and 3280 mAh battery.

Aside from Moto X, Motorola is also set to release a new generation of its cheaper Moto G handset this year. However, Lenovo-owned Motorola has not confirmed the aforementioned Moto X 2015 and Moto G 2015 rumors.
