During Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), the company announced that it will release major updates for its three operating systems; iOS, OS X and watchOS.

iOS
Apple finally unveiled the highly anticipated update to its mobile operating system, the iOS 9. The new operating system receives major performance improvements as well as new features.

Apple gave the Note app additional functionality like drawing. The Passbook feature was renamed to Wallet and Newsstand was renamed to News. The iOS 9 will also require less hard drive space giving users more storage for more important contents.

The public beta version of iOS 9 will be released in July while the final version is scheduled to arrive in fall, according to The Verge.

OS X
For the OS X platform, Apple announced the 10.11 update codenamed OS X El Capitan. The new update further improves the Spotlight Search feature, according to AnandTech

Another major upgraded added to the new OS X is the split-screen feature on desktop. The new feature allows users to use two apps side-by-side presentation at the same time.

Apple will also integrate Metal to OS X El Capitan. This will allow game and app developers to make use of the Mac's GPU. Apple claims that by integrating Metal's graphics-core technology, it will boost graphics rendering speed by as much as 50 percent.

WatchOS
For its smartwatches, Apple released the upgrade watchOS 2.0. The new smartwatch operating system will allow apps to run locally on the Apple Watch instead of executing it on the iPhone. This will allow developers to directly access the Apple Watch's hardware in order to create more app functionality.

With the watchOS 2.0 update, Apple Watch can now directly connect to a Wi-Fi network when the user's iPhone is not around to tether Internet connection to the smartwatch.
