"Anger Management" star Charlie Sheen was rushed to the Los Angeles hospital emergency room on June 8 due to food poisoning.

"It was clams, bad clams," said Jeff Ballard, the actor's rep, as an explanation of what led to a "severe case of food poisoning."

It appears that a seafood pasta dish ordered by the actor from a nearby eatery was the main culprit here. Soon after eating it, the actor started feeling sick and nauseous. The rep declared that nothing was serious and the 49-year-old actor himself walked in for the check-up just to be on the safe side.

Sheen was back to his home within 90 minutes of the check-in after a preliminary check-up.

On the contrary, TMZ reported that at around 11p.m., a call was sent from the actor's home to fire department instead of 911. Paramedics were sent in and the actor was taken by ambulance to a local hospital after he complained of severe chest pain.

The medical emergency of the "Two and a Half Men" star came amidst his ongoing Twitter feud with his ex-wife Denise Richards. Daily Mail reported that over the weekend, the actor tweeted some abusive messages in reference to Richards, which he deleted quickly. The cryptic message was followed by an emoticon of toilet.

The actor is said to be upset over the fact that his ex-wife is moving out of their current home in the Mullholland Estate and taking their two daughters, Sam, 10, and Lola, nine, with her.

Sheen is known to have tumultuous personal life. The actor has been married three times and has five children and one grandchild. Two of his wives have even accused the actor of alcohol and drug abuse along with strange fixations and extreme behavior.
