The recently announced 2016 BMW 7-Series boast several upgrades in the mechanical aspect. Additionally, the new flagship sedan from BMW also has the latest and best tech features BMW has to offer.
The 2015 BMW 7-Series has a wide array of new tech ranging from automatic air suspension, Carbon Core chassis and remote control parking, among others.
BMW chief executive Harald Kruger said, "We are responding to the digitization of modern mobility. This vehicle has everything that BMW currently has to offer."
According to The Wall Street Journal, newly imposed restrictions levied on emission has forced auto makers to reduce car weight as well as venture into more environment friendly alternatives like electric and hybrid models. The Internet of Things revolution also means that Silicon Valley companies like Apple and Google are slowly delving deeper car-generated data and driverless cars.
In order to meet the current technological demands, BMW equipped its latest 2016 BMW 7-Series with the latest technologies the company can get their hands into.
The new 2016 BMW 7-Series has an upgraded touch screen control center on the dashboard which can recognize hand gestures. Using 3D sensor control, the BMW gesture control can identify hand gestures that can answer and reject incoming calls as well as control the cars music volume.
BMW has also developed a new lightweight chassis that adds additional comfort to those inside that car and slashed the overall car weight by as much as 130 kilograms. At the very center of this new chassis technology is a carbon core body structure that increases its strength, rigidity and ride comfort and quality.
Perhaps the most interesting technology included in the 2016 BMW 7-Series is the Remote Parking feature. BMW has developed a new technology that allows the car to automatically park itself even without someone inside the car. The car can be controlled via the new display-based Keyfob device that BMW has developed and incorporated into the new i8 model, according to Jalopnik.
