Colin Trevorrow's "Jurassic World" is having its premiere in theaters tomorrow and one of its cast, Nick Robinson, talks the possibility of seeing a follow-up to the upcoming film.
In an interview with Cinema Blend, Robinson said that he would not be surprised if the production team decided to make a sequel to "Jurassic World." However, Robinson added that the film will not be having the sequel soon.
Robinson is prepared to return to a possible "Jurassic World 2" and his co-star Ty Simpkins seems to be enthusiastic in doing a sequel. Simpkins told Cinema Blend that he would be eager and open to do "50,000 more Jurassic Parks," though nobody has told Simpkins a potential "Jurassic World 2."
Robinson and Simpkins are playing the roles of brothers Zach and Gray, who are sent by their mother to "Jurassic World" to have a family vacation with their aunt, Claire Dearing, who is played by Bryce Dallas Howard.
Trevorrow's film is projected to make more than an estimated $100 million this weekend, which can indicate fans' cravings for a sequel. However, the production team will evaluate first the film's achievement before plotting a possible sequel, as per Forbes.
"Jurassic World" is the fourth installment of the "Jurassic Park" franchise and is set 22 years after the happenings in Steven Spielberg's 1993 movie "Jurassic Park." The completely functional Jurassic World theme park is the realization of John Hammond's vision, which is to build a dinosaur park for people.
Aside from Robinson, Simpkins, and Howard, "Jurassic World" stars Chris Pratt, Omar Sy, Vincent D'Onofrio, BD Wong, Brian Tee, and Judy Greer.
