Tech giant Google recently announced that its Slide service will be supported by Chromecast. Slide is Google's online and cloud-based alternative for creating presentations, similar to Microsoft Powerpoint.

Google is poised to release an update that will enable Slides to support Chromecast. Slide users can now project their presentation on a TV equipped with Chromecast and can have full control by using their Android smartphone, according to Engadget.

Google posted on the company's official blog, "Now it's even easier to share your presentations on big screens whether you're in a school board meeting, in charge of the slideshow at your best friend's wedding or pitching your dream business idea."

Google Slides has a positive appeal to small businesses as well as students because it is free to use. Presenting a slideshow with Chromecast is relatively simple. The user simply needs to connect their smartphone on the same Wi-Fi network where the Chromecast is connected, open the presentation and tap the Cast icon to stream it directly to the TV where the Chromecast is connected.

There is a different step for iOS users who wants to use AirPlay. Their iOS device will automatically detect if there is an Apple TV or AirPlay receive within range, once detected all they need to do is swipe from the bottom of their device's screen in order to connect it. They can then stream to a compatible device by turning the Mirroring feature on, according to PC Mag.

Google has already released the update for Slides. Additionally, the Slides app can be downloaded on Play Store for Android devices and Apple App Store for iOS devices.
