Twitter is on fire as #zayniscomingback is trending. On the One Direction website, Zayn Malik's profile was reposted and it is likely that had led to the spread of the rumour that Zayn Malik is returning to One Direction.
According to Metro, Malik's departure from One Direction post was deleted and the profile surfaced on the official website. However, many believe that the profile of Zayn Malik was never taken down from the website.
Earlier, Niall Horan told Rolling Stone that they miss having Malik around. He continued that they are continuing to hit the stage and perform for their fans. He stated that nothing has changed for the band as they want their fans to enjoy the One Direction concerts.
"We're still going onstage every night and having the best time of our lives with our incredible fans, so from that point of view, nothing has changed," Horan said.
Horan teased that they have few surprises for the fans. "Most importantly, we will be rehearsing new songs which we are very excited to perform live for the first time," One Direction's Horan added.
Meanwhile, members of the band will also pursue solo work apart from being in One Direction.
"And there's no reason why they can't have lifetime careers both as a group and working on their own solo projects - just like the Stones," a friend informed People.
Rolling Stones are a big inspiration for One Direction and they are fans of the band.
There are no official statements released by One Direction related to Zayn Malik making a return to the band.
