As Jackie Chans "Dragon Blade" received a massive success in mainland China, Lionsgate finally brings the action to U.S. audiences.
Since its release in China earlier this year, the film already collected an impressive $120 million.
Recently, Lionsgate Premiere revealed a new trailer of the movie. The film is expected to be enjoyed by moviegoers in the U.S. on Sept. 4.
"Dragon Blade" revolves around stories of Roman forces marching into China, where warriors fight for the Silk Road as East and West collide.
It was inspired by a true story of missing army of Roman soldiers that marched into China in 48 B.C.
Jackie Chan, who is also a co-producer of the film, plays the role of Huo An. Chan's character and his group teamed up with a top myriad of defeated Roman warriors led by General Lucius (played by John Cusack).
Huo An gathers warriors from 36 ethnic nations to fight corrupt Roman leader Tiberius (played by Adrien Brody) and maintain the delicate balance of power in the region.
In a press conference in Taipei, Oscar-winning actor Brody said that the action film gave him a rare chance to explore his martial arts side.
Meanwhile, Chan also revealed that he wanted to do the film since 2008.
"I didn't make the film because the government policy wants to protect the Silk Road. I am ahead of them. I hope Chairman Xi (Jinping) gets to watch this film," added Chan.
Directed by Daniel Lee ("Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon" and "14 Blades"), the film was produced with a $65-million budget, making it one of China's most expensive movies.
