Due to an overwhelming amount of graphical and performance issues, the official Steam page of the "Batman: Arkham Knight" PC version got over 4,500 negative reviews out of the 6,700 overall user reviews. The title has vanished from the front and featured sections of the Steam game store as a result.

Majority of the user reviews have elected the game to end up with a rating of "mostly negative," at the time of this writing. This is largely due to complaints regarding the PC version's stuttering, freezes, audio problems and the frame rate cap issue that can be solved by overwriting one of the game's .ini files.

On the title's Steam page under "Announcements", Warner Bros. Interactive's VP of game technology Gary Lake-Schall indicated that AMD graphics card users will run into performance issues, and that they are "working closely with AMD to rectify these issues as quickly as possible and will provide updates here as they become available." AMD are currently releasing the updates one after another.

In a locked thread on the official "Arkham Knight" forums, a Rocksteady representative has made a post expressing that the company is aware of the issues PC players are experiencing, and that it "is something that Rocksteady takes very seriously." They also revealed that they are currently processing solutions together with their external PC development partner.

Polygon claims that they have tried to reach Warner Bros. Interactive for further feedback regarding details on the third-party development team hired to work on the game, but there is no response as of yet. The gaming site promised to update their report if the publisher decides to reply.

The developers are reported to be focusing on enhancing performance for players who own solid-state drives, amongst other fixes. Steam is also offering refunds to players who find the game unsatisfactory, on the condition that they have only played the game within two weeks and for less than two hours.
