A survey conducted by The Pew Research Center revealed that a median of 55 percent across 40 nations have a favorable opinion of China.
Around 45,435 respondents participated in the said poll.
The Pew Research Center also published that the ratings for China have risen slightly across the 35 countries surveyed in both 2014 and 2015.
"A median of 49 percent had a positive view of China across these countries in 2014, but in 2015, it is 54 percent," in those 35 countries, it said.
Wang Huiyao, director of the Center of China and Globalization, said that the recurring non-governmental exchanges between China and other countries in recent years have played a part to the rise of China's image across the world.
The study found that in 18 of the countries polled, younger people have a more approving view toward China than their elders. The trend was most distinct in the U.S., where 55 percent of young Americans 18 to 29 years old had a favorable view of China, while among those 50 and older, it was only 27 percent.
The survey also found that China's Asian neighbors view the United States more favorably.
"Some of the Asian countries surveyed had or are having territorial disputes with China. It's understandable that people of these countries tend to hold opinions that are not so positive toward China," said Yang Mian, a professor at Communication University of China.
China got the most favorable response from Pakistan with 82 percent. The country's help in the terrorism issues of Pakistan allegedly strengthens the relationship of the two countries.
Just recently, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced that Pakistan's 60-year-old alliance with China is a top priority.
The next country to give the highest favorable response about China is Ghana, where the government loaned $37 million for a distance learning program.
Another poll from the Pew Research Center also revealed that most countries say China will overtake the U.S. as a global superpower, although the latter still stays on top.
