The upcoming eighth season of "Castle" will introduce a new character named Hayley. Fans are now speculating that the woman will cause tension between Rick and Kate.
According to Carter Matt, ABC and the creators of "Castle" is extremely happy with Stana Katic's decision to rejoin the cast of the series. With this, they have decided to include Katic's character Kate in the premiere episode for season 8.
The first episode will be entitled "XY" and it will be written by showrunners Terrence Paul Winter and Alexi Hawley. Additionally, it has been confirmed that "Castle" season 8 will have 22 episodes.
Meanwhile, according to Venture Capital Post, Nathan Fillion and Katic will be part of all 22 episodes unless the new character Hayley will do something to break them apart.
What this means is that both lead stars may be part of all of the episodes for season 8, but they might not always be included in the same scenes. There are also speculations that Hayley will be a beautiful woman who can easily capture the interest of Rick.
As of late, the role of Hayley has not yet been cast and it is unclear what role exactly she will play. Some fans are suggesting that she could be the new chief of police, while others are saying that she could also work as a detective or a writer.
Others are also suggesting that Hayley and Rick could work closely together especially since Kate already has plans to run for the senate.
"Castle" season 8 will premiere on ABC on Sept. 21 at 10 p.m. ET.
