With Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" coming to the big screen next year, a concept art of the titular supervillain's den has been revealed.
Apocalypse's den art has been recently posted on Entertainment Weekly's Twitter account. His lair is a pyramidal structure with hieroglyphics, which can also be found on the walls of the den. A status of Horus, the ancient Egyptian's national patron god, can also be seen in Apocalypse's resting ground.
In history, Horus was usually depicted as a falcon-headed man. He wore a red and white crown, which symbolizes his kingship over the kingdom of Egypt.
The concept art also shows people inside the lair; one is entering the den while the other looks like digging for something. With unrevealed purpose in the supervillain's resting place, they could be the reason for the Apocalypse's awakening, as per Cinema Blend.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Apocalypse's existence and plot to destroy the world will lead Magneto and Professor X to join forces and unite to save the world. The director said that this event marks the real emergence of the X-Men.
Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" also serves as the final installment of "X-Men: First Class" series and it will feature new actors like Olivia Munn, Kodi Smit-Mcphee, Lana Condor, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, and Sophie Turner, among others.
Aside from Lawrence and Hoult "X-Men: Apocalypse" stars other "First Class" cast members, which include James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, and Lucas Till, among others.
Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" is set to hit the big screen on May 27, 2016.
