Wu Yi Fan, aka Kris Wu, appears in a music video showing him in an impassioned rendition of "Time Boils the Rain" for the upcoming film “Tiny Times 4: Soul’s End.”
The music video shows clips from the previous three “Tiny Times” movies together with some clips for the forthcoming one. The emotionally charged video is 4.18 minutes long, and Wu can be seen shedding a tear near the end part.
"Time Boils the Rain" is part of the original soundtrack of “Tiny Times 3.” It was the 24-year-old singer-actor’s first-ever solo as a former EXO-M member where he was the group’s leader.
“Tiny Times 4: Soul’s End” is based on the fourth installment of the “Tiny Times” series by best-selling author Guo Jingming. The 32-year-old writer is also the director of all four “Tiny Times” movies.
“Tiny Times” and “Tiny Times 2: Aoki Era” were released on June and Aug. 2013, respectively. "Tiny Times 3: Thorn Golden Era” was shown in July 2014. All were box-office hits.
“Tiny Times 4” will once more show the intertwined lives of the four female leads, namely, Gu Li aka Lily (Taiwanese singer-actress Amber Kuo), Lin Xiao (Chinese singer-actress Yang Mi), Nan Xiang (Taiwanese actress-model Hayden Kuo Bi-ting aka Bea Hayden) and Tang Wanru aka Ruby (Taiwanese actress Xie Yi Lin).
For the loyal viewers of the film, particularly those who like Gu Yuan played by Taiwanese actor-singer Ko Chen-tung aka Kai Ko, they will no longer be disappointed. Ko’s scenes had been resumed.
The 24-year-old award-winning movie star was arrested and detained in 2014 for smoking marijuana. Reuters said that a celebrity (TV-movie actors, singers, directors and the likes) who gets arrested for drug use will be banned from engaging in any entertainment industry-related work.
To add more weight to the severity of the punishment, it has been made a requisite for a production outfit behind any prior work made by the celebrity (a TV program or a movie) to remove scenes involving the law-breaking celebrity.
It is the reason why “Tiny Times 4” was not released on its original Feb. 2015 play date.
The Strait Times said that the ban on Ko has been lifted.
“Tiny Times 4” will finally hit the theaters on July 9, and based from Wu’s song and music video plus the trailer, a box of tissues may come handy for the moviegoers.
