During the past six years the GeeksPhone had many milestones: its premier smartphone made it the first Spanish tech company to develop a mobile device, it became the first European business to launch a Google Android-based gadget, and it became the first global brand to unveil a Firefox OS cellphone. While the company's multi operating system platform will stay on the market and it will provide technical support for all handset models, the company will now turn its focus on the less "cut-throat" wearables market, so it can focus more on customer service.

GeeksPhone became a startup company in 2009. It has succeeded in the mobile phone business despite not being a household name like Apple and Samsung.

The tech company has developed six mobile phones in six years including Keon and Peak, the company's first devices that were launched in 2013, according to ZDNet.  Nonetheless, tech analysts say that its Firefox OS platform accounts for less than one percent of the market share.

Rodrigo Silva-Ramos is one of three company founders. He said that the ultra-competitive mobile industry has made it difficult to provide top-notch customer service.

He and another founder have launched the new brand geeks!me, which will focus on the development of wearable devices. Their first product will be an activity bracelet, according to PC Mag.

The wearable gadget will help to track various human activities. They include exercise and sleep metrics, and sexual performance.

Geeksphone's engineering staff will team up with Silent Circle. The two companies collaborated in 2013 for a super-secret mobile project called "Blackphone."
