"Wayward Pines" Season 1 airs its penultimate Episode 9 on July 16, 2015. Fans must know that things are only going to get intense. The upcoming segment of the Fox's latest thriller is titled "A Reckoning" and sees Ethan making a daring move. Residents of the creepy town will finally learn the truth about the place they are living in. Here are spoilers for the next chapter of "Wayward Pines." Read on to find out what happens next.

In Episode 8, the fence that protected the town for years was destroyed leaving Wayward Pines and its citizens at the risk of being attacked by Abbies. The segment also revealed what happens if anyone tries to get on the other side of the town. Dobbs made the dangerous move and lost his life at the hands of the Abbies. Meanwhile, Ethan and Theresa mend fences with each other.
"Wayward Pines" Episode 9 picks up from where the previous segment left off. It shows the aftermath of Harold's attempts to destroy the fence. According to Spoiler TV's synopsis for "A Reckoning," Ethan successfully catches Harold and begins investigation. He interrogates Harold about the other people who have attempted to go beyond the town's boundaries or maybe planning to do so.
Meanwhile, Amy's condition begins to deteriorate. Will she survive? After Theresa talks to Nurse Pam about the mysterious Plot 33, the nurse urges her to take the investigation forward and find more answers.
Elsewhere, Ben's teacher Meghan Fisher tries to influence Ben. She asks Ben to talk about the incident publicly. And Ethan decides to let the residents know the truth about the Wayward Pines. In Episode 9 "A Reckoning," Ethan tells the citizens about the danger lurking at the every corner of their town. Is he preparing them for the impending attack?
A promo video for "Wayward Pines" Season 1 picked up by TV Line, shows that the first class at Wayward Pines Academy including consider themselves responsible for the future of Wayward Pines. They want Ethan to execute those who violated the laws and put the town in danger of the "terrorist" attack. They demand "retribution." People of the town want Ethan to kill Kate.
Speaking to the aforementioned publication, "Wayward Pines" co-creator Chad Hodge said that he has "a very special place in my heart for [Episode 9]."
"It's an incredibly well written script by the Duffer brothers and directed wonderfully by Nimród Antal," Hodge added.
