Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update will soon roll out for devices like Samsung Galaxy S5, S6 Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy Note 4, and Note Edge.

This upgrade will be bringing about a lot of changes to the devices. It will make many performance boosts, fix the existing bugs, enhance the camera settings alongwith many other fixtures. However, these changes will differ from device to device, according to The International Business Times.

The Android Lollipop 5.1.1 is being pushed for Samsung Galaxy S5, S6 Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy Note 4, and Note Edge in phases. So all the devices will not receive the update together. The estimated time of arrival also depends upon the carrier of the phone and the model of the phone, according to VC Post.

When the device receives a firmware update, there is a permanent notification indicating that the device can now download the upgrade. The prompt usually asks the users to connect to a WiFi connection to download the upgrade.

To check the upgrade manually, users can check it at under Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check for software updates or check it via KIES. In the latter method, the users need to connect their devices to a PC or a laptop through a USB wire and launch KIES.

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is not a major upgrade but it is a bridge between the earlier version of 5.0 operation system and the upcoming version of Android 5.2 Lollipop.

Android M (or 5.2) is expected to be released along with Google Nexus 5 2015 in October. The much-anticipated Google Nexus 5 2015 will be pre-equipped with the new operating system.
