The new app makes it easier for the users to use their footage right after it has been captured. It allows them to trim and edit clips without downloading all the files. Aside from trimming the files, they can also combine it with other trimmed clips. On the actual editing process, users can see the clips on low resolution previews, and the original high resolution files can be seen when they choose to output or upload the footage. Users can also share the completed content right from their smartphones.

GoPro said that it is only the first step towards new features on their products. The company plans to release a cloud service that will sync users' footages automatically as they go. Users can view these footages on difference devices with much ease. Then users will go to the software Google Photos route, which automatically create the video highlights based on the synced files, Irish Examiner reported.

The company said that GoPro cameras need the app that will let the users turn hours of video recording into a short essential video. GoPro's first product with on-camera editing was Hero+LCD, allowing users to share content faster. With this new app that will be available on mobile devices, users will have a better solution before the company launches a cloud service product that will automatically edit video footage, according to Tech Crunch.
