While many are excited about the upcoming release of Windows 10, the gaming community is concerned that the upcoming update from Microsoft will have conflicting issues with drivers provided by third party developers.
According to Forbes, one of the possible problem PC gamers may run into once the update is rolled out is the conflicting driver from Nvidia graphics cards. Some users posted on Nvidia's forum claiming that the update will cause a multi-monitor setup to malfunction.
The problem was traced down to the SLI or multi-graphics card configuration that can cause a PC from completing the boot process which then prompts the operating system to go into emergency recovery mode.
When Windows 10 was announced, Microsoft has worked with several PC peripheral manufacturer in order to develop and create drivers that should be compatible with the upcoming operating system. While many manufacturers were able to create updated drivers for their products, there are still a handful of hardware that are yet to be fully compatible with Microsoft's new operating system.
On the other hand, Microsoft said that users who wants to upgrade to the new operating system are advised check whether their hardware drivers are compatible with the software update. This is to ensure hardware stability and reduce the possibility of any conflicting issues.
As of this writing, only Nvidia graphics card users' have experienced that problem and has already voiced out their concerns. Despite this, many analysts believe that more and more hardware manufacturer will discover the problem one the new operating system is rolled out.
According to PC Gamer, the Windows 10 operating system offers several new features, like DirectX 12, that will surely entice gamers to upgrade. Microsoft is expected to roll out the Windows 10 update on July 29.
