Production company Marvel will reportedly release a new comic book series entitled "Spidey," that will focus on Peter Parker's teenage years.

According to Entertainment Weekly, "Spidey" will chronicle the life of Peter before he even became a superhero. The series is written by "Supernatural" writer Robbie Thompson and the art is by Nick Bradshaw.

In an interview with the publication, Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso said that "Spidey" is not aimed to retell the story of Peter or Spider-Man. Rather, the book will serve as the beginning of the character's story. Alonso added that "Spidey" will offer a fresh new take about the well-loved character. As such, he is looking forward to the fans embracing their newest venture.

Meanwhile, "Spidey" will also feature a range of old and new characters, some of them were already included in some "Spider-Man" comic books or in the movies.

"Spider-Man" editor Nick Lowe said that previous issues of "Amazing Spider-Man" only featured a teenage Peter in at least 30 issues. This means that there are still more stories to be told about that time in his life.

In other news, the interior art for "Spidey," created by Bradshaw, was recently unveiled online. According to Comic Book Resources, the photos featured colored and black and white versions of Spider-Man. In one of the photos, Spider-Man could be seen seemingly falling off a building. In another photo, he was featured in action as though he was climbing walls.

"Spidey" will be available in bookstores nationwide starting this fall.
