"Spider-Man" reboot director Jon Watts recently explained why he believes actor Tom Holland is the best fit for Peter Parker.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Watts said that the first thing that drew him to choosing Holland was the fact that he could look like a real high school student. Since "Spider-Man" reboot will feature the early years of Peter, Holland became the most obvious choice for him.

Watts added that Holland exudes an aura that could be appealing to "Spider-Man" fans. Additionally, the actor can also do back flips, which is an integral part of the character's abilities.

Meanwhile, it has already been confirmed that Holland will make a cameo appearance on "Captain America: Civil War" before he will star in his standalone film. Talking about this collaboration, Watts said that it is great to be working with different actors and staff that are all part of the same universe.

He added that right now, they are already conceptualizing and writing the script and the entire process is just exciting for all of them.

In other news, "Spider-Man" reboot co-writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein recently talked about the storyline for the upcoming movie. In an interview with USA Today, the duo said that "Spider-Man" reboot will be different in the sense that the story will be grounded and will be focused on Peter himself.

They added that the film will chronicle the entire journey of Peter while he is in high school and before he became a superhero.

"Spider-Man" reboot is slated to hit theaters in the United States on July 18, 2017.
