According to several reports, Android 5.1 Lollipop update will roll out soon to many Sony Xperia devices. However, not all these devices will be updated simultaneously.

Sony has posted the Android 5.1 Lollipop update release flow among Xperia devices. The details disclosed by the electronics maker Sony show which device will receive it first and so on. Android 5.1 Lollipop is set to be available first on models launched in 2014 and 2013 along with high-class units such as Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z3 beginning the end of July.

Within this week, Sony will release the firmware for Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3. Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 Compact and Xperia Z1 will be added in the upcoming weeks.

Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3 will shortly follow after the Xperia Z Ultra, Z1 Compact and Z1 software update. Original Sony Xperia Z Series such as Xperia ZR, Xperia ZL, Xperia Z and Xperia Z Tablet are likely to get the Android 5.1 Lollipop update in the middle of August.

Sony Xperia M2 Aqua and Xperia M2 are the last to get the Android update on this set by the rest of August.
The company has not mentioned updates of models for E series such as Xperia E4 Dual and E4, Venture Capital Post reported.

Android 5.1 Lollipop update brings the following changes:

1. Android 5.1 Lollipop implementations and improvements from the tech giant Google.
2. Increased customization options on the alerts, silent modes and volume controls.
3. Upgrades to the Camera apps such as more accurate and faster Superior Auto Mode for excellent images inspite of conditions.
4. Also, there is an enhanced enterprise support and a brand-new LinkedIn integration
5. SmartWear integration such as easier selfie snapping utilizing the SmartWatch 3 as a remote shutter button.
