A new update on the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus release emerged and there are whispers that the upcoming smartphones will be launched under Apple's virtual network.
According to sources close to Apple cited by Business Insider, Apple is reportedly working mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) in US and UK. The tech giant is allegedly trying the service with the aid of mobile networks.
An MVNO works as Apple leases space from mobile networks and offer it to their customers directly. Under the MVNO, Apple will provide data, calls, and texts and everything you need. Users, on the other hand, will pay directly to Apple for the mobile services. However, Apple SIM switches between carriers to get the best service to its customers.
If rumors proved to be true, Apple's MVNO will be similar to Google's Project Fi.
For people in the tech industry, this does not come as a surprise as Apple is revealed to have filed a patent in 2006 for an MVNO service. Apple introduced the Apple SIM last year that is a gateway to carriers. Right now, the SIM is available in iPad, but will be available in iPhones.
Meanwhile, new leaked images of the upcoming iPhone indicated that the new generation of the smartphone will be coming soon. The alleged display components of iPhone 6S suggested the inclusion of Force Touch technology and sturdier panel to prevent bendgate problems.
Some of the purported features of the iPhone 6S are A9 processor, 4 GB of RAM, iOS 9 with software features such as Car Play, Apple Watch, HealthKit, and Apple Pay as well as improved Touch ID fingerprint sensor.
Moreover, the new iPhone will be available in more color options aside from the current silver, gold and space gray variants. Apple is reportedly mulling over the idea of a pink iPhone to appeal to female users.
However, Apple has not confirmed the aforementioned rumors.
