George R.R Martin, author of "Game of Thrones," is just as happy as his fans for the publication of his imminent novel "Winds of Winter" and he recently hinted that the book could be in the hands of publishers and has a major plot twist.

The novel is the sixth segment in the series "A Song of Ice Fire," which is the foundation for the reputable HBO show "Game of Thrones," International Business Times reported. In a recent interview, the author asserted that his wish is that the book to be out the soonest possible and hinted it has a fantastic twist for the main protagonist.

"I wish it was released now. Probably I am too optimistic about how fast I can complete the novel. However, I canceled convention attendances, and I am turning down many more interviews - just anything within my capacity to clear my schedule and get the novel done," Martin said to the Entertainment Weekly.

The author has made completion of the novel a priority because of global pressure from his readers. He said that the plot shift would fascinate readers. Renowned for exploring amazing events and horrific deaths, the analytically celebrated author said that he is not writing a poser for no reason.

He wants the horrific events to emerge naturally and progressively from the characters and the context. According to him, the shocking twist in "Winds of Winter" is difficult to translate into "Game of Thrones."

Martin said, "The show has already, in the specific protagonist, made several decisions that will prologue it, where from a personal stand I have not made such decisions."

Martin's books in the series "A Song of Ice and Fire" have been the foundation for "Game of Thrones," but some plots have already diverged from the book. Although the stories are sequential, the TV show has already taken freedoms with the destinies of some characters.

Most of the work in the initial five publications has already been utilized and Season 6 of "Game of Thrones" is now in creation. The author has continuously talked about his wish to get the sixth book released the soonest possible, and a recent blog gave fans hope that it may happen very soon.

While talking about traveling to the East Coast, Martin signed off by leaving a small hint that the novel may now be in the hands of publishers.
