The tech community was recently treated to a series of leak about the BlackBerry Venice. The leak further solidify the possibility that the device will run on the Android platform.
The BlackBerry Venice was announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. During its presentation, BlackBerry hinted that its upcoming device will be a slider phone. The company did not mention that the device will run on the Android platform. However, recent leaks pointed to the possibility.
The leak was posted on CrackBerry and shows that the device features an Android version of the messaging application BlackBerry Hub. The app allows user to quickly access and respond to text messages, emails as well as social network feeds.
According to PC Mag, the Venice also features a body design closely resembling that of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. This means that it will also feature a screen that slopes down on both sides. Some analysts also pointed that the phone features a glass weave pattern which quickly reminds those who sees it of the BlackBerry Z30 smartphone. Some rumors even claim that the Venice will feature a stainless steel body frame.
Since the device is rumored to run on the Android platform, it is believe that it will have new features previously unseen in the BlackBerry 10 operating system. Among these rumored feature is the Chromecast compatibility. On the leaked renders, it shows that there are some Google apps installed into the phone like Google Drive, Chrome, Hangouts and Maps. The presence of these Google apps further fuel the possibility that the phone will run on the Android platform.
The most latest of the leak came from the well-known tipster Evan Blass who uses the Twitter handle @evleaks. Blass Twitted that the BlackBerry Venice will be released in November under the T-Mobile banner.
