Rumors kept on stacking about the BlackBerry device that runs on the Android platform. Information about the device known only as BlackBerry Venice finally surfaced after a series of leak.
The leak was posted by CrackBerry and shows the phone's renders. Based on the leak, the BlackBerry Venice will sport an Android version of its messaging app called BlackBerry Hub. This app combine the user's social media feeds as well as email messages. The leak also hinted at a possible 18-megapixel main camera and Chromecast support for the device.
The device's design is similarly close to that of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge which sports a screen that slopes down on both sides of the device. Additionally, the Venice will feature the glass weave pattern just like the one found on the BlackBerry Z30. Although still unconfirmed, rumors claim that the device will sport a stainless steel chassis.
The new BlackBerry device will also feature one big update now that it runs on the Android platform. The BlackBerry 10 operating system does not support Chromecast. Now that the Venice runs on the Android operating system, rumors are strong that the device will finally support Chromecast.
The BlackBerry Venice is also believed to feature a sliding physical keyboard although this rumor cannot be confirmed by the leaked renders.
According to N4BB, the phone will have a Quad HD 5.4-inch display screen. Under its hood is the Snapdragon 808 chipset from Qualcomm that features a 64-bit six-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz. There are also rumors claiming that the device will be powered by an eight-core processor.
The BlackBerry Venice is expected to be released in the third quarter of 2015.
