Kara Zor-El will eventually possess her unique capabilities to be Supergirl in the next CBS show, although the upcoming superhero will be pervious to other threats that are less crippling than the bloodcurdling kryptonite.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Andrew Kreisberg said that the objective of the show was to place Kara Zor-El is a situation where her powers are limited so that viewers can root for her.

"There is a predisposition with Superman to strengthen him that he surpasses every danger along his way," Kreisberg added. "There are many things besides Kryptonite that can take Kara Zor-El down. It is not to incapacitate her but to make it appear like there is truly compromise to the show."

The name "Supergirl", as opposed to "Superwoman as well, was not malicious about the young female star. Superwoman is a different character that already exists and established in the comic books different from Kara Zor-El, HNGN reported.

Executive producer, Ali Adler, pointed out that Kara is Supergirl purposely because she is Supergirl.

Despite being called "Supergirl" that would appear to incline towards young viewers, Greg Berlanti, executive producer, wishes to "take a powerful word back" since it introduces Melissa Benoist's trait to a new generation.

"It should be powerful and bold. That was our objective," he argued. "One of the advantages of what we can achieve is to introduce it to a new generation and that implies altering major components of the character and still maintaining the central DNA of the character."

The show has also starred DC characters such as the superhero Red Tornado, Kryptonian super villain Non, and General Sam Lane. They join the roster of recently added Peter Facinelli (Maxwell Lord, Chris Browning - playing the villainous Reactron, and Jenna Dewan-Tatum (Lucy Lane).

Catch the premiere series of "Supergirl" on Monday, Oct. 26 at 8.30 p.m. on CBS.
