CW President Mark Pedowitz declared at the Television Critics Assn. Press tour in Beverly Hills that after learning that Spears is a fan of the show, CBS Studios along with Jennie Snyder Urman got in touch with the star and offered her a cameo in the hit series, Los Angeles Times reported.

"See u at the Marbella Hotel soon, @hereisgina @jaimecamil! Guest starring on one of my favorite shows EVER @CWJaneTheVirgin #DreamComeTrue," tweeted the pop star to first break the news herself.

The cast of the show, Gina Rodriguez, who is famously portraying the role of 23-year-old religious woman who becomes pregnant after being artificially inseminated by mistake, and her on-screen father Camil took to Twitter to express their excitement over the news of Spears' cameo.

"Literally fell out my chair @britneyspears I cannot wait to work with you beauty! I'm covered in goosebumps. This is unreal," tweeted the 31-year-old Golden Globe award winner.

The upcoming guest appearance makes a comeback of Spears on the smallscreen after a long time. Earlier she donned the TV screen in "How I Met Your Mother," "Will & Grace," "Glee," and  her UPN reality series "Britney & Kevin: Chaotic."
