'The Big Bang Theory' Season 9 premiere cast
Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco) were shown eloping to Las Vegas to get married in the finale episode of season 8 of hit CBS series, "The Big Bang Theory." However, it now appears that their walk to the aisle will not be an easy one since it is reported that Melissa Tang is set to join the show in the upcoming season to portray the role of the woman whom Leonard had kissed once.
Fans of the show remember that during the finale episode of season 8, just before setting off for Las Vegas, Leonard confessed to Penny about a kiss he shared while on the North Sea expedition. It is reported that Tang, who is best known for playing Suzanne Taylor in "Mom," has been roped in to play the role of the mysterious woman and will appear in the second episode of the show, TV Line reported.
The season 9, which is set to premiere on Sept. 21, reportedly will follow the events shown in season 8 without any time lag.
The last-minute confession by Leonard is likely to derail the plans of his wedding to Penny, who was left shocked to learn about the kiss. With the news of Tang joining in the show, it is most likely that she will re-enter Leonard's life, causing ripples in his relationship with Penny and even threatening his impending wedding.
Meanwhile, it was also reported that despite showing the break-up of Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik) in the finale episode, it now appears that Amy's run with the show has not ended yet. Bilalik's comeback is confirmed by show-runner Steve Molaro himself, who assured that the issues of Sheldon-Amy will be addressed in the premiere episode of season 9, Enstarz reported.
