The second season of CW TV series "Jane the Virgin" will have a new storyline for lead character Jane Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez). In an interview, Gina Rodriguez teased what the fans can expect in "Jane the Virgin" Season 2.

The storyline in "Jane the Virgin" Season 1 focused on Jane Villanueva's pregnancy after she got artificially inseminated by mistake. Jane and her baby daddy, hotel owner Rafael Solano (Justin Baldoni), welcomed their baby boy in the finale episode.

In an interview with Business Insider, Gina Rodriguez shared what she knows about Jane Villanueva's storyline in "Jane the Virgin" Season 2. Rodriguez teased that Jane will tie the knot in the upcoming new season but she still has no idea who Jane will marry.

The new season of the CW TV series will now focus on how Jane deals with motherhood. Rodriguez shared that she is excited to explore motherhood with Jane Villanueva.

The whereabouts of Jane's newborn son is currently unknown after a woman, who pretended to be a nurse, took the child and gave him to Sin Rostro (Bridget Regan) in the finale of "Jane the Virgin" Season 1. Gina Rodriguez assured the fans that the upcoming new season will quickly resolve the kidnapping incident.

The success of "Jane the Virgin" made Gina Rodriguez see herself as a role model for the young people and fellow Latinos far and wide. Rodriguez shared that she now uses her power for good during the interview at a Manhattan event that endorsed Crest toothpaste.

Rodriguez shared that the effect of spending even just 30 seconds to talk to a fan or respond to a couple of messages on Twitter makes her feel really good inside. One of the issues that the "Jane the Virgin" lead actress wants to deal with is the damaging beauty standards thrown at young girls today.

Rodriguez explained that her role as Jane Villanueva serves as a powerful tool because the show depicts the character as a beautiful strong girl and does not harp over what she looks like or her fashion style. According to TVGuide, the CW Network confirmed that the premiere of "Jane the Virgin" Season 2 will be on Monday night, Oct. 12 which is a week earlier than the initial schedule planned.
