Reality TV star Toby Sheldon had been found dead in a California hotel room. Sheldon is famous for undergoing plastic surgery to become Justin Bieber.
On Aug. 21, Sheldon's lifeless body was discovered in a room at a Motel 6 branch in San Fernando Valley. The star was last seen driving a grey 2009 Toyota Camry on Aug. 18. Drugs were found in the room. It remains uncertain whether the substance is the cause of Sheldon's death. An autopsy has been conducted, Yahoo News reported.
According to Sheldon's friends, the 35-year-old was usually cheerful but a recent break-up caused him depression. They describe Sheldon as secretive.
Sheldon, born Tobias Strebel, spent more than $100,000 to look like Justin Bieber. To complete the transformation, he also sang and recorded Bieber's songs.
The Bieber look-alike made headlines in July 2014 when his surgery story was featured in the E! reality series "Botched."
Although he resembled his idol already, Sheldon remained unsatisfied. He wanted further enhancements. His doctors, however, were unwilling to do more procedures. They said that excessive plastic surgeries may lead to complications.
Sheldon also appeared on an episode of "My Strange Addiction. "Some people buy fancy cars or fancy mansions," he said on the show. "What I do with my money, is I get surgery to look more like Justin Bieber!"
During his appearance, Sheldon shared why he admires Bieber, "What brought me into Bieber was the whole package; the full cheeks, the full temples, the bright open eyes, the full luscious lips, and spatial framing." According to Sheldon, Bieber is extraordinarily beautiful, New York Daily News reported.
