"Jurassic World" actress Bryce Dallas Howard will star a lead role in Stephen Gagham's drama film entitled "Gold."
Howard signed on to star in the film, along with "Interstellar" actor Matthew McConaughey and "Ant-Man" actor Corey Stoll, as per The Tracking Board. The upcoming drama film is set to be another big project for Howard following the success of Colin Trevorrow's "Jurassic World," in which the actress played Claire Dearing, together with Chris Pratt, who played the role of Owen Grady.
Howard will play Kay, the girlfriend of McConaughey's character. Kay has been together with his boyfriend for a long time, but the hunt for gold will put their relationship to test. Joining a geologist's team, she will make an effort to find gold deep in the jungle of Indonesia.
Along with Howard, McConaughey, and Stoll, the film also stars Toby Kebbell, Rachel Taylor, Edgar Ramirez, and Stacy Keach, among others. Prior to Gaghan's "Gold," Howard is next to be seen in David Lowery's adventure film "Pete's Dragon" and an untitled "Jurassic World" sequel, which hits theaters on June 22, 2018.
"The Blacklist" writers Patrick Massett and John Zinman are on board to pen the screenplay. The film will be a joint project of Black Bear Pictures and HWY61, with Teddy Schwarzman and Michael Nozik as producers. Schwarman is known for producing Morten Tylum's drama thriller film "The Imitation Game" while Nozik is known for Gaghan's drama thriller "Syriana."
Filming is now ongoing in New Mexico, following the team's shooting in Thailand. The production team is expected to finish filming in New York in October, as per Deadline. Since the film is in its early phase of development, exact details on the story plot, additional characters and cast, and the exact release date is yet to be revealed.
Gaghan's "Gold" is slated to premiere in theaters in 2016.
