Jinan is a co-author of "Esclave de daesh." The term Daesh is an Arabic acronym for the IS.  She was kidnaped in 2014 and held captive for three months until she escaped, reports BusinessInsider.

Sex slaves of the IS include both Yazidi and Christian women. Once, they were gathered in Mosul inside a big reception hall with large columns. The jihadists went around the sex slaves, laughed noisily and touched the women's buttocks, Jinan writes. The buyers were Syrians, Iraqis and westerners.

During her captivity, Jinan was shuttled between several places. At Mosul, one man commented that while Jinan has big breasts, he wanted instead a Yazidi woman with light skin and blue eyes. Two men, an imam and an ex-police officer, eventually bought her.

Trading was both in U.S. dollars and goods such as firearms for a specific type of woman. In one instance, a trader offered a brunette for $150 or the customer's Beretta pistol. Maximum number of female purchases is three women, but the cap does not apply to residents from Syria, Turkey and the Gulf nations.

Besides being tortured, the IS also forced them to convert to Islam. Those who refused to become Muslims were beaten, chained outdoors under the sun and forced to drink water with dead rats in it. They are also tortured using electric shocks, Jinan recalls.

She describes her captors as inhuman who only think of death and killing people. Jinan attributes such behavior and attitude toward their constant use of illegal drugs. She points out, "They seek vengeance against everyone. They say that one day Islamic State will rule over the whole world."

Jinan escaped by using stolen keys, reports Express. She is in Paris for the book launch.
