During the final live stream of "Destiny: The Taken King" the game's developer Bungie announced the new Exotic Sword called Raze-Lighter. The new Exotic Sword is part of the wide-array of new weapons that will be released alongside the new expansion which will roll out on Sept. 15.
According to gaming website Twinfinite, the Raze-Lighter is a powerful melee weapon that does heavy solar damage. It has 310 attack damage and since it is a melee weapon it ranks low on Range while Efficiency and Energy is among its strongest attribute. Among its attributes include Tempered Light, Thrive By Sword, Warrior Of Light and Phoenix Uppercut.
The two-handed sword has a serrated part on the blunt side and just above the grip. The sword is also capable of blocking incoming attacks which makes close combat an interesting foray rather than a suicide act.
The sword's power was also revealed during the Twitch live stream. The immediate response the sword received was that it might incite imbalance in the game. Just like other Exotic weapons, the Raze-Lighter can be purchased only through Xur.
On top of the recently announced Exotic sword, "Destiny" creative director Luke Smith revealed the release date of the game's raid dubbed King's Fall. Smith shared the news via his Twitter account posting, "The King's Fall Raid will go live 9/18/15 at 10 a.m., PST #longlivetheking."
In the King's Fall raid, players will play against Oryx who was introduced in the "Destiny" universe in the "The Dark Below" expansion, according to IGN.
